The First Light animation project has gotten off to a good start, with children from the play scheme at The Pump telling us very specifically what they would like to see through their windows. A few chocolate rivers, candyfloss clouds and ginger bread parachutists later, and we have ourselves the beginnings of an insightful narrative. The View from My Window is looking to be an exciting film made by children at The Pump youth centre and The Oval primary school, this varied collection of young minds helps capture a true essence of the local area. They have begun creating and experimenting with many forms of animation, including ‘claymation’, ‘humanimation’ and chalk animation.

Reel Access has been able to make this project happen after receiving funding from First Light Movies. With this First Light project we hope to emulate the success of a film we made with children last year, which was nominated for a ‘First Light Award’, and cannot wait to see the finished view from their window.
