Join us on Saturday 25th May 2013 between 2 and 5pm to celebrate the culmination of our Re-Awakening Lea Village project.
The project is finishing with a really positive, vibrant community event that celebrates and displays the work produced through the project. The Re-Awakening Lea Village Festival will blend traditional art forms such as maypole dancing and Morris dancing with modern arts forms that are delivered in the village at the moment, including the screening of the films that have been produced.
In addition to our activities there will be walking tour of the village as part of the Birmingham Architecture Festival 2013. George Chiswell, a local resident, will lead the tour, beginning at 2.00pm at The Pump and will then walk up to the site of the original village and continue in a loop back to The Pump, stopping to reflect on significant locations throughout the village.
The tour needs to be booked in advance via the Birmingham Architecture Festival 2013 website and costs £5 (an additional 10% booking fee will be charged) and places are limited to 12. For more info see our Re-Awakening Lea Village Tour event page.
